Market Square Named One of America’s Best Public Markets

(Media release on behalf of the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau, February 25, 2011) has featured San Antonio’s Market Square on a new list of America’s 10 best public markets, alongside such legendary locales as Seattle’s Pike Place Market.

Market Square stands as a celebration of Mexican culture in downtown San Antonio, and the largest Mexican market outside of Mexico. Three markets make the Market Square: Farmers Market, El Mercado, and Produce Row, all offering authentic Mexican apparel, décor, gift items, and more. Market Square is also home to the famous family owned Mi Tierra Café y Panaderia, opened in 1941 as a three-table café and today a San Antonio institution seating over 500.
